Skylar McArthur to Compete in Super Sixes for Team Canada

McArthur will Partake in the Competition from Oct. 11-13

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - Marist women's lacrosse assistant coach, Skylar McArthur has been named to the Team Canada Super Sixes lineup, set to compete in Coquitlam, BC from Oct. 11-13.

The Super Sixes event first began in 2022 and has returned every year since. 2024's iteration of the competition will include teams from: Canada, Haudenosaunee, Kenya and Great Britain. With the addition of Sixes to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, CA, the Super Sixes are an important opportunity for athletes to notch international experience under their belts prior to the 2028 Games.

McArthur, no stranger to representing Team Canada in international competition, returns to the Super Sixes lineup, having represented the team in 2023. The Peterborough, ON native will look to improve on Canada's 2023's Silver medal finish.

McArthur joined Marist's women's lacrosse program as an assistant coach in Aug. 2024. Prior to Marist, McArthur served as an assistant coach for High Point University, helping the Panthers earn a runner-up finish in the Big South Conference.

"When we heard she(McArthur) was going to be a part of Team Canada and be able to play for her country again... The Team was so excited and so happy for her. It is a special opportunity and holds a high sense of honor to represent your home country. We are proud and know she will show the best of herself this weekend." -Head Coach, Keith Detelj
