TJ Weyl Promoted to Offensive Coordinator

Weyl Entering Second Season at Marist

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – Marist head football coach Mike Willis announced the promotion of TJ Weyl to offensive coordinator on Tuesday. Weyl will also coach the Red Foxes' quarterbacks.

"I'm excited to announce Coach Weyl's promotion," Willis said. "TJ is a consummate professional, elite teacher, and a tremendous offensive mind. I am excited to continue working with him and to watch him flourish in this new role. Marist got better today!"

Weyl is in his second season on Willis' staff at Marist. In the 2024 season, he served as offensive line coach/run game coordinator/recruiting coordinator.

"I'm thrilled at the opportunity to lead the Marist Offense," Weyl said. Many thanks to Coach Willis, Director of Athletics Tim Murray and the administration for their support. We will be a group that plays Fast, Physical & Together, and I cannot wait to get to work. Go Red Foxes!

Under Weyl's tutelage, right guard Dominic Perricone was a First Team All-Pioneer Football League selection this past season. Right tackle Chris Leonardo was a First Team Academic All-PFL selection and was named an FCS ADA Academic All-Star.

The Marist offensive line paved the way for a group that increased their production in rushing touchdowns, passing touchdowns, rushing yards, rushing yards per carry, total yards, red zone scoring percentage, and red zone touchdown percentage.

Prior to his arrival at Marist, Weyl was offensive line coach/run game coordinator at Johns Hopkins in the 2023 season, when he helped the Blue Jays reach the Division III quarterfinals and average over 40 points per game. At Hopkins, he coached three All-Americans and one All-Region player. He previously worked at Rutgers (2020-22), Vanderbilt (2018-19), Princeton (2017), and Monmouth (2016).

In the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks role, Weyl replaces Bob Davies, who is resigning due to personal reasons.

"I also want to thank Bob Davies for the tremendous job he did helping us lay the foundation for this new era of Marist Football," Willis said. "He is a first-class football coach and an even better person. I wish Stella and him the best!"
