Men’s Lacrosse Seeks to Build Momentum in Road Contest Against Denver

Red Foxes Open West Coast Trip With Denver

POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team aims to keep the excitement going as it travels to Colorado to take on Denver Friday, Feb. 28. The opening faceoff is set for 8 p.m.

 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Red Foxes defeated Binghamton in thrilling fashion with a game-winning goal at the buzzer to seal a 10-9 victory.
  • Collin Patrick recorded four points in the game, scoring both of his goals in the final 1:21 to tie it at nine.
  • Sean Mullan then ripped the walk-off goal with the clock showing all zeroes, securing the win for Marist.
  • Steven Cain led the Red Foxes with three goals, notching the first hat trick of his collegiate career.
  • Joshua Balcarcel logged two points in the victory, marking his 100th career point as a Red Fox.
MULLAN MAGIC
  • Sean Mullan contributed beyond his miraculous goal for Marist, tallying three points in the victory.
  • The sophomore now has five points on the season, four of which have come from goals.
  • Mullan's buzzer-beater was the first game-winner of his collegiate career.
  • He is currently third on the Red Foxes in total shots with 19.
SCOUTING DENVER
  • This is the second meeting all-time between Marist and Denver.
  • The Pioneers took the first matchup 15-9, winning in Colorado on Feb. 22, 2014.
  • Denver enters Friday sitting at a 2-2 record on the season, most recently losing at Cornell 15-5.
  • Cody Malawsky leads the Pioneers with 13 points, made up of seven goals and six assists so far this season.
  • Mic Kelly has also provided seven goals for Denver on 32 total shots.
  • Malcolm Kleban was in net for Denver for a majority of the contest against Cornell, logging seven saves while allowing 10 goals in the loss.
