POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team will begin its 2025 season on its own field at Tenney Stadium this Saturday in Poughkeepsie. The game will air at 11 a.m. on ESPN+.
 

Preseason Polls

• The Red Foxes were ranked third in the MAAC preseason poll, behind Siena and Sacred Heart and ahead of fourth-place Quinnipiac.
• Four Marist players received preseason All-MAAC honors: midfielders Joshua Balcarcel and Sean Mullan, long-stick midfielder Michael Cassano and defender Aiden McCaffrey

 

LAST TIME OUT

• The men's lacrosse team finished last season fourth in the MAAC with a 5-4 conference record.
• The Red Foxes fell to Siena in the first round of the conference tournament, 12-9.

 

New Beginnings

• Dave Scarcello will make his head coaching debut in Saturday's match.
• Scarcello will be taking over for former head coach Keegan Wilkinson, who led the program for 13 seasons.  
• With more than 10 years of involvement with the Red Foxes, Scarcello steps into the role following his time as a student-athlete, assistant coach and associate head coach with the program.

 

Scouting Mercer

• This is the first meeting in program history between Marist and Mercer.
• Mercer enters Saturday's contest coming off a 23-3 victory over Hampton in its season opener.
• Sophomore Dillon Bush and freshman Will Zylstra led the way for the Bears, each scoring four goals.
• The Bears finished last season 4-10 overall with a 3-6 ASUN Conference record.

• Marist will begin a five-game road trip, starting at Jacksonville on Saturday, Feb. 15.
• The first face-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Rock Lacrosse Center.
