STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Marist softball team split its first two games of the 2025 season on Friday at the Texan Classic, hosted by Tarleton State.

In their season opener, the Red Foxes defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff by a score of 11-0 in five innings. In its second game of the day, Marist fell 9-1 to McNeese State in five innings.

- The Red Foxes exploded for a seven-run fourth, punctuated by a three-run homer by Isabella Manory, and a two-run blast by Kunze. Hampton added a sacrifice fly, and McDonald had an RBI single in the inning.

- Kiley Myers went the distance in the five-inning shutout. Myers struck out two, and allowed just three hits and one walk.
- McDonald, Manory, and Kunze drove in three runs apiece. McDonald went 2-for-2 with two walks and a run scored.

- McNeese State scored five runs in the first, and added three in the second.
- Marist got on the scoreboard on a solo home run by Kaitlyn Husic in the top of the fourth.

- Marist will play two more games on Saturday at the Texan Classic.
- The Red Foxes open the day with a re-match against McNeese at 11 a.m., which will be broadcast on WAC International.
- Marist will then face Tarleton State at 3:30 p.m., which will be shown on ESPN+.
