POUGHKEEPSIE, New York –
Peyton Pusey of the Marist University softball team was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Second Team Academic All-American on Tuesday.
The award added to the impressive list of accolades Pusey has earned this season. The Red Foxes' center fielder was previously named MAAC Player of the Year, Most Outstanding Player of the MAAC Championship, First Team NFCA All-Region, and All-ECAC. She had been named CSC Academic All-District each of the last three years.
Pusey concluded her collegiate career as the MAAC's all-time leader in runs scored and Marist's all-time leader in games played. She also ranks in the top five in program history in batting average, hits, stolen bases, doubles, and triples. Academically, Pusey was named to Marist's Dean's List in all eight of her semesters on campus.
In Marist history, Pusey's honor is:
- The third by a Marist softball player in the last two years.
- The fifth by a Red Fox in the 18-year head coaching tenure of Joe Ausanio.
- The sixth by a Marist softball player in program history.
- The 21st by a Marist student-athlete.
Marist won its second straight MAAC championship, and third in the last four years, in 2026.
