POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University men's lacrosse team fell to Quinnipiac by a score of 8-7 on Saturday at Tenney Stadium.
- Dylan Rocchio's first collegiate goal – coming off a long pass from goalie Adam Wacholder – started the scoring at the 12:46 mark.
- Quinnipiac tied it at the 9:35 mark, but Brady Dolan's man-up goal at 7:02 from Collin Patrick put Marist back in front.
- The Bobcats tied the score with nine seconds remaining, and it remained 2-2 after 15 minutes.
- Quinnipiac took its first lead at the 12:57 mark, but Drew Anderson tied the score 18 seconds later.
- Quinnipiac then took a 4-3 lead, but Anderson's second goal of the quarter tied it up at the 4:31 mark.
- The score remained 4-4 heading into halftime.
- Quinnipiac struck first, but Patrick and Peter Murray scored withing 50 seconds of each other to give Marist a 6-5 lead.
- The Bobcats closed out the period with three straight goals, and they led 8-6 after 45 minutes.
- Jake Deacy's man-up goal, assisted by Patrick, brought Marist to within one at the 6:39 mark.
- Marist shut out Quinnipiac in the fourth quarter and had multiple chances in the final two minutes, but was unable to get the equalizer.
- Patrick led Marist with three points, with one goal and two assists. Anderson (two goals) and Sean Mullan (two assists) each registered two points.
- Dylan Bedell picked up seven ground balls and was 11-for-15 (.733) at the faceoff X.
- Wacholder stopped 10 Quinnipiac shots.
- Marist held a 49-34 advantage in shots, and a 28-18 edge in shots on goal.
- Owen Murray led Quinnipiac with three points, as he finished with a goal and two assists.
- Mason Oak stopped 21 Marist shots in goal for Quinnipiac.
- Marist is 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the MAAC.
- Quinnipiac is 2-5 this season and 2-0 in conference play.
- Marist will play a non-conference game at Delaware on Wednesday night.
- Opening face-off is set for 7 p.m.
