POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's and women's tennis teams look to bounce back against Sacred Heart on Sunday in Trumbull, CT.

Both teams will play at 5 p.m.
 

Last Time Out - Women

• The Marist women's tennis team was defeated 6-1 by Quinnipiac on Saturday.
• Ella Lindsey earned the Red Foxes' sole point, taking a three-set victory at #6 singles.
• Despite the Red Foxes losing the doubles point, Ellen Zureick and Viktoria Lorentzon succeeded at the #3 spot, earning a 6-4 victory.

 

Last Time Out - Men

• On Saturday, the Marist men's tennis team fell to Quinnipiac 5-2.
• Jose Catala and Augustin Damonte earned singles points for the Red Foxes at the #1 and #2 spots, respectively.
• Nick Suhanitski and Ian Layton took the #1 doubles matchup 7-6(6).

 

Scouting Sacred Heart - Women

• The Pioneers are 3-7 (1-2 in MAAC play) on the season, having won 5-2 over Monmouth in their last matchup on Saturday.
• Sacred Heart is on a two-match winning streak, having Defeated Monmouth 5-2 and MAAC Rival Merrimack 7-0.
• Marist is 3-0 all-time against the Pioneers, most recently beating their opponent 6-1 on April 18, 2006.
• Freshman Ola Irla-Bartyzel is on a four-match singles winning streak, all at the #1 spot.
• Sacred Heart was selected fourth in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll with 45 points, ten points behind third Marist.

 

Scouting Sacred Heart - Men

• The Pioneers are 3-7 on the season (1-2 in MAAC play), losing in its last outing 5-2 to Merrimack on Sunday, March 16.
• Despite winning all three doubles matches against the Warriors, only Paul Goncalves secured a singles point, beating the #4 match 5-7, 6-2, 6-2.
• The pioneers have lost their previous three matchups: Hofstra 5-2, Siena 6-1, and Merrimack 5-2.
• Marist is 2-0 all-time against Sacred Heart, having won its last matchup 4-0 on January 21, 2017.
• Sacred Heart was selected seventh in the MAAC Preseason Coaches' Poll, with 30 points, 12 points behind fifth-place Marist, which received 42 points.
