Water Polo Sweeps Wolverine Invitational With Three Wins

Red Foxes Scored 48 Goals As A Team In Three Matches

ANN ARBOR, Michigan- The Marist water polo team continued its winning streak at the Wolverine Invitational, Sunday morning. The Red Foxes defeated Salem and Pomona-Pitzer on March 22 and Saint Francis (PA) on March 23, extending their win streak to seven wins.

Rachel Dean led the Red Foxes with four goals in their 19-8 win against Salem.

Kendell De Beer scored four goals for the Red Foxes in their 12-8 win over Pomona-Pitzer. The four goals led the team in scoring in the Red Foxes sixth-straight win.

Samantha Bentley scored a team-high five goals in the Red Foxes seventh-straight win against Saint Francis 17-11.

The Red Foxes improved to 17-8 on the 2025 season and remain 2-1 in MAAC play.
 
Match One Vs Salem
  • At the end of the first quarter in the match, the Red Foxes and Salem were knotted at two goals apiece.
  • In the second quarter, the Red Foxes outscored Salem 5-3, and took a 7-5 lead into halftime of the match.
  • The Red Foxes took full control of the match in the third quarter, outscoring Salem 6-0 with a dominant effort from Inés Sánchez in net. The Red Foxes led 13-5 after three quarters of play.
  • The Red Foxes would score six more goals in the final quarter, outscoring Salem 6-3, and triumphing in their fifth-straight win 19-8.

  • In the third quarter, both the Red Foxes and Pomona-Pitzer scored a goal apiece. The Red Foxes maintained a four goal lead, and led 8-4 at the end of three quarters.
  • Both the Red Foxes and Pomona-Pitzer scored four goals apiece in the final frame. The Red Foxes triumphed in their sixth-straight win 12-8.
