Red Foxes Set For Road MAAC Matchup With Sacred Heart on Saturday

Fairfield, CT - Marist men's lacrosse will travel to Connecticut on Saturday, March 29, to face off against the Sacred Heart Pioneers in a MAAC contest at noon on ESPN+ at SHU's Campus Field.

PATRICK THE STAR
  • Collin Patrick has been the go-to guy on offense in his sophomore campaign, leading the team with 23 goals, 19 assists and 42 points
  • In addition to his hat trick, Patrick added two assists for five points against Canisius, along with 11 shots
  • Patrick now has six games with 5+ points and five games with 3+ goals
  • In 10 games played, his 42 points is first in the MAAC with a 4.20 average per game.
  • Patrick is also third in assists in the MAAC with 19 and 1.90 game avg.
  • He was also named the most recent MAAC Offensive Player of the Week on 3/24; it was his second of the season and second in three weeks.
 
SCOUTING SACRED HEART
  • This will be the the 15th contest all-time between the Red Foxes and the Pioneers, with Marist 6-9 in the all-time series 
  • Marist lost its last meeting, 12-7 at SHU on March 27, 2024.
  • Sacred Heart is 3-1 in the MAAC and 7-2 overall on the season
  • Heading into the match, the Pioneers are on a three-game win streak
  • They defeated Iona on Wednesday, 16-1, in their last outing.
  • On offense, they are led by graduate student Tucker Spencer, who leads the team with 29 goals and 33 points.
  • Spencer notched five goals against Iona, making it his third time with 5+ goals in a game this season, highlighted by seven in SHU's first game against Saint Joseph's
  • Spencer's 29 goals are second in the MAAC with 3.22 goals per game average in nine games.
  • He was also named the MAAC Offensive Player of the Week earlier this season in February.
  • Senior Jake Ward is also a big part of the offense, as he leads the team with 18 assists and is second in the MAAC with a 2.00 avg assists per game.
  • Ward has also been named MAAC Offensive Player of the Week twice this season
  • On the defensive side, graduate student goalie Alex Pazienza anchors the back end.
  • Pazienza is atop the MAAC in Goals Against AVG with 8.01, and 70 goals against in 9 games
  • He was also named the most recent MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on 3/24 and has received the honor three times this year

  • Marist will host Manhattan College on Saturday,  Apr 12 at 7 p.m. in a MAAC Conference Matchup
  • The Red Foxes will honor their seniors in their annual Senior Night
