FAIRFIELD, CT. – Collin Patrick and
Drew Anderson combined to score seven goals, but it wasn't enough as Marist men's lacrosse came up short on the road against MAAC foe Sacred Heart, 12-11, in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
Anderson led the offense with four goals and an assist for five points, while Patrick totaled three goals and an assist for four points.
With the loss, Marist fell to 5-6 on the season and 3-2 in the MAAC, while Sacred Heart improved to 8-2 on the campaign and 4-1 in the MAAC with the win.

- The Red Foxes struck for three straight goals behind two from Collin Patrick and one from Steven Cain to jump ahead 8-6 with 12:54 left in the third
- Leading 8-7, Patrick secured his hat trick to extend the lead to 9-7 before taking a 10-8 lead into the fourth
- The Pioneers scored three straight goals to push ahead 11-10 The Red Foxes responded with back-to-back goals from Anderson and Sean Mullan to push ahead 12-11 with 3:54 left in regulation
- However, SHU scored a goal with eight seconds left to tie the contest at 12-12, forcing overtime
- SHU scored a goal with three seconds left in OT to win the contest, 13-12
