FAIRFIELD, Connecticut – The Marist University softball team did not allow a run in a doubleheader sweep at Sacred Heart on Friday. The Red Foxes prevailed 5-0 and 12-0.

On the day, three program records fell:
- Kiley Myers set the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference career record with her 20th shutout in game one. This was her eighth shutout of the season. The previous conference record was held by Melanie Kasack, who played at Marist from 1998-2001.
- Miah McDonald's run in the first inning of game two was the 169th of her career, which set a program record. The previous record was held by Maureen Duddy, who played at Marist from 2013-16.
- Marist set a program record with its 17th shutout of the season in game one, and now has 18 shutouts this year. The previous record of 16 was set in 1997.

- Marist broke open a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the fourth.
- Rogers' fifth-inning double scored Maddie Pleasants from first, and staked Marist to a 5-0 lead.
- Rogers and Howard both had two RBIs. Rogers led the Red Foxes with two hits.
- Myers went the distance on a three-hit shutout. Myers did not walk anyone, and she struck out nine.

- Marist erupted for six runs in the top of the first. McDonald had an RBI double, Pleasants had an RBI single, Kunze delivered a sacrifice fly, and Maddie Gore cleared the bases with a three-run double.
- The Red Foxes added a run in the fourth when Pusey stole third, and then scampered home on a throwing error.
- Marist tacked on five more in the seventh. Kunze had an RBI single, and Anna Sidlowski followed with a two-run double. Howard and Sidlowski then scored on wild pitches.
- Marist totaled 11 hits. McDonald, Ahr, Pleasants, and Gore had two apiece. Gore led the team with three RBIs.
- Pleasants went the distance on a five-hitter. She struck out 11.

- Marist has now recorded three straight shutouts, and the Red Foxes have not allowed a run in 22.2 innings.
- Pleasants has struck out at least 10 in four straight outings, and she now has back-to-back shutouts.
- Myers' nine strikeouts in game one were a season high.

- Marist is 33-7-1 overall and 10-2-1 in the MAAC.
- Sacred Heart is 18-21 overall and 8-8 in the MAAC.
