Red Foxes Head to William & Mary for Colonial Relays

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. – The Marist men's and women's track & field teams travel to Williamsburg, Virginia for Colonial Relays at Zable Stadium for their third meet of the outdoor season.
 
LAST TIME OUT
  • The Marist track and field teams competed at the Rider 5-Way Invite for their second meet of the outdoor season on Mar. 29th, 2025.
  • On the women's side, the 100-meter hurdles saw two new PRs with Madison LaCreta (5th) coming in with a time of 15.49 and Talia Augosto (16th) at 18.44.
  • Breelyn McNamara ran a PR of 59.71 in the 400-meter dash, earning her second place. Nina Florio (6th) also PR'd with a time of 1:02.00
  • The Red Foxes saw back-to-back PRs in the 100-meter dash with Makenzy Nielsen (14th) finishing in 12.78 and Alyssa Dapont (15th) at 12.86.
  • The foxes saw two new PRs in the 200-meter dash, as Alyssa Dapont (10th) finished with a time of 26.51 and Nina Florio (17th) clinched her PR at 27.42.
  • Emily Litke finished first in the 3000-meter run with a PR of 10:36.79. Rachel Turek (18th) followed with her own PR of 11:41.56.
  • In her first time throwing discus at the collegiate level, freshman Kelly Ballen wasted no time jumping into action. Ballen set a new discus school record with her distance of 29.40 meters.
  •  Alexandra Samperi (4th) set a new long jump PR of 5.48 meters.
  • As for the men, the men's 4x100 meter relay team of Amari Mathis, Simeon Washington, Ramsey Heredia, and Maxwell Sylver started the day off strong, earning first with a time of 42.62.
  • Christopher Lynch (8th) earned a PR in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.13.
  • Miracle Okoli earned fourth in the 400-meter dash with a PR of 50.24. Simon Advento (8th) also earned a PR with a time of 51.55.
  • William Carroll (6th) turned in a PR in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.65.
  • Freshman Kevin Cannon placed first in the 3000-meter run with his PR of 8:48.97.
  • The men brought home two more first place finishes from Sean Wilson with a time of 4:04.40 in the 1500-meter run and Amari Mathis with a time of 10.81 in the 100-meter dash.
WOMEN'S HISTORY AT COLONIAL RELAYS
  • The Marist women's track and field team competed at Colonial Relays last from Apr. 5th through Apr. 6th, 2024.
  • The 4x1500m (19:05.08) relay of Adele Alexander, Sierra Fisher, Kayla Hawkins and Parker O'Brien ran the second fastest time in school history to finish 3rd overall.
  • O'Brien also captured first place in the 800-meter run, setting a new personal record time of 2:16.11.
  • The freshman Paige McCaul gave the Red Foxes another first place finisher.
  • McCaul ran a personal best time of 18:42.58 to secure the top spot in the unseeded women's 5k. Kaitlyn Murtagh secured third place in the event with a personal best time of 19:01.59.
  • Samantha Kehler represented the Red Foxes in the 5k invitational, running a huge personal best (17:46.77) and finishing in 12th.
  • Alexander secured third place in the 1,500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:40.95. Fisher also set a new personal record in the event, finishing in 4:48.71 which was good for 13th.
MEN'S HISTORY AT COLONIAL RELAYS
  • The Marist men's track and field team competed at Colonial Relays last from Apr. 5th through Apr. 6th, 2024.
  • In his outdoor season debut, Amari Mathis clocked an impressive 10.83 seconds in the 100-meter dash, securing an IC4A qualifying time and finishing seventh overall.
  • Kieran Donnelly gave Marist a second IC4A qualifier. He set a new personal record in the invitational 5,000-meter run, finishing in 14:39.20 which was good for a 22nd place finish in the event.
  • The Red Foxes also had a multitude of runners set new PRs: Freshman Matthew Ferreri (1:57.01, 12th) in the 800, Christopher Lynch (58.67, 14th) in the 400 hurdles, Pierce Francis (15:40.67, 14th) in the 5k, and Dennis Love (4:03.42, 17th) and Raffi Buchakjian (4:03.58, 18th) in the 1,500.
UP NEXT
  • The teams will be back in action from Apr. 12th through Apr. 13th, when they will compete at the Bison Outdoor Classic
  • The event will take place at the Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium.
