POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team swept a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader from Merrimack on Tuesday at Gartland Field.

The Red Foxes won both games by a score of 4-3, with the second game lasting eight innings.

- An infield groundout by Sienna Kunze brought home Miah McDonald with the game's first run in the bottom of the first.
- The Red Foxes tacked on three more in the bottom of the fifth. Isabella Manory led off the inning with a hit by pitch, stole second, went to third on a Haley Ahr single, and scored on a wild pitch. Maddie Pleasants then drove home Peyton Pusey, who had walked, and Ahr with a single.
- Merrimack scored three in the top of the seventh, but stranded the tying run at second.
- Ahr went 3-for-3 with a run scored.
- Pusey was 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored, and a stolen base.
- Kiley Myers went the distance to improve to 17-1. Myers struck out a season-high 10 and did not walk anyone.

- Pusey led off the first with a bunt single, advanced to second on a double by McDonald, and scored on a groundout by Ahr. Kunze then singled home McDonald to put Marist up 2-0 in the first.
- Merrimack tied the game with a pair of runs in the top of the third.
- McDonald gave Marist the lead back with a leadoff homer in the bottom of the fifth.
- Merrimack tied the game in the sixth, but Anna Sidlowski came in with two outs and stranded the bases loaded on a running catch by Manory in left field into foul territory.
- In the bottom of the eighth, Pusey reached on a one-out bunt single, went to third on a double by McDonald, and scored the winning run on Ahr's sacrifice fly.
- Marist outhit Merrimack, 10-5.
- McDonald went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles, two runs scored, and an RBI.
- Pusey went 3-for-4 with a walk, stolen base, and two runs scored.
- Ahr went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
- Pleasants started in the circle and struck out 11 in 5.2 innings. Sidlowski (7-3) earned the win with 2.1 innings of scoreless and hitless relief with four strikeouts.

- McDonald's 20th home run set the single-season program record, which was set last year.
- Ahr became the eighth player in program history to collect 200 career hits. She now stands at 203.
- Pleasants has now struck out at least 10 in six straight starts.
- Marist has now won six straight.
- The Red Foxes' last three games have all been 4-3 victories.
- This was the first time Marist faced Merrimack in program history.
