POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The MAAC men's lacrosse awards were released on Friday. Marist featured five different players earning All-MAAC honors, with 19 student-athletes getting recognized for the All-MAAC Academic Team.
Long Stick Midfielder of the Year
- Cassano totaled four goals and two assists for six points on the season.
- He also recorded 35 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers on the campaign.
All-MAAC First Team
- Patrick leads Marist in goals [30], assists [23], and points (53)
- The sophomore is second in the MAAC in points per game [3.79] and third in assists per game [1.64].
- McCaffrey leads the Red Foxes in caused turnovers [16] and is second in ground balls won [38].
- The senior is top-ten in the MAAC in ground balls [2.71] and caused turnovers [1.14] per game.
- Michael Cassanno notched All-MAAC first team as a long stick midfielder.
- Cassano picked up 35 ground balls [third on team] and caused 12 turnovers [second on team] in the regular season.
Second Team
- Dylan Bedell was named to the All-MAAC second team as a face off specialist.
- Bedell holds the third-best faceoff percentage in the MAAC at .595% and ground balls won at 73.
- Bedell added a goal and a caused turnover on the season
- Totaled 181 face-off wins
Rookie
- Adam Wachholder earned a selection to the MAAC All-Rookie Team as a goalie.
- Wachholder holds a .500 save percentage while allowing 10.25 goals per game.
- Earned five wins in his rookie campaign and totaled 81 saves and an assist on the season
- The freshman notched his collegiate-high of 14 saves in a win against Mount St. Mary's.
MAAC All-Academic
19 student-athletes received a spot on the MAAC All-Academic team. Student-athletes must complete two semesters at their institution while holding a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher
