NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, New York – The Marist University softball team earned a sweep in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference doubleheader at Niagara on Tuesday.

The Red Foxes won both games in five innings by the mercy rule. They prevailed 19-6 in game one, and 9-1 in game two.

The following records and milestones took place:
- Haley Ahr set the program's single season hits record, and she now has 79 this year.
- Peyton Pusey set the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference's single-season record for runs scored. Pusey has crossed home plate 72 times this season.
- Marist set the MAAC record for runs scored in a season. The Red Foxes have now scored 377 runs this year.
- Marist earned its 40th win of the season in game one. It is the second time in program history the Red Foxes have had a 40-win season, and first since 2016.

- For the second straight game, Pusey led off the first with a home run.
- Hailey Cenname's homer in the bottom of the first staked Niagara to a 2-1 lead, but Pusey drilled a three-run homer in the top of the second, which gave Marist the lead for good.
- Marist struck for nine in the top of the third, with the key hit being Ahr's three-run homer. The Red Foxes sent 15 hitters to the plate and had nine hits.
- The Red Foxes added five runs in the fourth. Marist had two hits in the inning, but drew four walks and had a hit by pitch.
- Maddie Pleasants' sacrifice fly in the fifth brought home Pusey with the Red Foxes' final run of the contest.

- Marist scored twice in the top of the first. Pusey led off the game with a single, and she scored on a double by Miah McDonald, who later scored on a sacrifice fly by Samantha Rogers.
- McDonald's double in the second brought home Pusey to make the score 3-0.
- Rogers' home run in the third advanced Marist's lead to 4-0.
- Marist struck for three in the fourth. Ronni Howard's squeeze bunt scored Kaitlyn Husic, and Maddie Gore followed with a two-run single.
- Sienna Kunze delivered a two-run homer in the fifth to extend Marist's lead to 9-1.
- Pleasants came within one strike of a perfect game before Selah Moyer homered to account for Niagara's only run. That was the only baserunner she permitted, as she struck out eight and needed just 67 pitches to get through her outing.
