VILLANOVA, Pennsylvania- The Marist water polo team continued MAAC play with two matches against VMI and Villanova, Saturday afternoon. The Red Foxes split the two matches, scoring 21 goals in their win against VMI.
The Red Foxes moved to 19-10 overall on the 2025 season, and 4-3 in MAAC play.
- The Red Foxes took the lead at the end of the first quarter 6-3, led by Kendell De Beer who scored two goals.
- In the second quarter, the Red Foxes outscored VMI 5-1 and took an 11-4 lead into halftime of the match.
- The Red Foxes continued their offensive power in the third quarter, outscoring VMI 5-2. The Red Foxes led 16-6 heading into the final quarter.
- In the fourth quarter, the Red Foxes outscored VMI once again 5-4, and triumphed in match one of the weekend 21-10.
- The Red Foxes trailed at the end of the first quarter after being outscored by the Wildcats 5-3.
- The Red Foxes offense scored five goals in the second quarter, while limiting Villanova to four goals. The Red Foxes cut into the Villanova lead 9-8 at halftime.
- In the third quarter, the Red Foxes were outscored 5-2 in the quarter. The Red Foxes trailed 14-10 heading into the final quarter of play.
- The Red Foxes outscored the Wildcats 3-2 in the final quarter, but fell in the final match of the weekend 16-13.
- The Red Foxes play two home matches in the Courtney Fisher Invite at McCann Natatorium.
- The first match against Siena is slated for April 12 at 10 a.m.
- The Red Foxes senior day against Mount St. Mary's is slated for 5 p.m.
