NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Marist women's track and field team produced a series of season-best and personal-best performances at the Dr. Sander's Columbia Scorcher, held Friday and Saturday at the Armory Track and Field Center. The Red Foxes continued to build momentum deep into the indoor campaign with competitive marks across sprints, middle distance, and field events.
The meet was highlighted by sophomore
Julianna Mirabile, who delivered a personal-best effort in the invitational 800-meter run, clocking 2:14.12 in a strong field. In the open 800 meters, senior
Kayla Hawkins recorded her season-best performance, placing 10th in 2:18.91, while
Sierra Fisher added depth with a 32nd-place finish.
In sprint action, junior
Grace Fletcher turned in a season-best time of 59.86 seconds in the seeded 400-meter dash.
Rebecca Maclaren placed 12th in the open section of the event with a time of 1:02.16.
In field competition, freshman
Emma Murphy delivered the Red Foxes' top placing of the weekend, finishing sixth in the open long jump with a leap of 5.01 meters (16 feet, 5.25 inches).
The Red Foxes will be back in action on Jan. 31, when they participate in the BU Terrier Classic.
