POUGHKEEPSIE, New York – The Marist University softball team will open the 2026 season ranked #17 in the D1Softball Mid-Major Poll.
Last season, the Red Foxes were ranked every week of the season in the Mid-Major Poll. Marist finished the season at #12, its best ranking at any point last year.
Marist set a program record with 48 wins last season. The Red Foxes won the MAAC championship for the second time in three years, and they earned their first win in NCAA Regional play in program history.
This year's team returns four players who earned All-MAAC honors in 2025:
- Haley Ahr – First Team and All-Championship Team selection who led the NCAA in batting average.
- Peyton Pusey – First Team and All-Championship Team selection who led the NCAA in runs scored and runs per game.
- Sienna Kunze – Second Team and MAAC All-Rookie Team selection.
- Samantha Rogers – Second Team and All-Championship Team selection.
Additionally, the Red Foxes bring back pitcher/outfielder
Anna Sidlowski, who was the MAAC Rookie of the Year 2024.
Marist opens the 2026 season on Friday, Feb. 6 in Charleston, South Carolina in a tournament hosted by Charleston Southern.
