NEW YORK, NY - The Marist women's track & field team turned in a strong and well-balanced performance at the MAAC Indoor Championships, finishing seventh out of 10 teams with 53 points at the Armory Track and Field Center. The 53 points more than doubles last seasons championship results for the Red Foxes.
The Red Foxes were powered by a conference champion, multiple school records, and standout efforts across sprints, distance, relays, and field events.
Julianna Mirabile highlighted the meet with a championship performance in the 800-meter run. After leading the field in prelims, Mirabile captured the MAAC title in 2:18.65 in the finals. Rebecca Maclaren added to the scoring in the same event with an eighth-place finish.
On the sprint side, Gabrielle Bozeth delivered a record-breaking weekend. Bozeth set a new school record in the 200-meter dash during prelims and followed it up with a third-place finish in the finals, contributing key points.
Marist's relay units were a major strength throughout the meet. The 4x800-meter relay team placed second while breaking the school record in 9:09.15, surpassing a mark that had stood since 2018. The distance medley relay added a fourth-place finish in a season-best time, and the 4x400-meter relay also placed fourth, showcasing the team's depth and consistency across events.
In the field, Alexandra Samperi delivered one of the top performances of the championship, winning the long jump while breaking her own school record with a mark of 5.93 meters. The Red Foxes continued to rewrite the record book as Kelly Ballen set a new school record in the weight throw and Grace Murphy broke the program record in the shot put.
Distance runner Mallory Holloway added a fifth-place finish in the 5,000 meters, while Emily Litke recorded a personal best in the same event. Alicia Ramos contributed on the track as well, advancing to the finals in the 60-meter hurdles with a personal-best performance and placing seventh overall.
Overall, Marist combined championship-level performances, record-breaking marks, and strong relay showings to secure a top-seven finish at the MAAC Indoor Championships.
