LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – The Marist women's track & field team turned in a record-setting performance at the Rider 6-Way on Saturday, highlighted by three school records and a wave of personal- and season-best marks despite blustery, cold conditions at Rider University's Michael P. Brady Track.
Alexandra Samperi led the charge with a historic day, setting two school records and earning multiple top finishes. She broke her own program record in the long jump with a mark of 5.72 meters (18 feet, 9.25 inches), surpassing her previous best set in 2025. Earlier in the meet, Samperi sprinted to a school-record time of 12.13 in the 100-meter dash, eclipsing Ashley Haynes' 2017 record of 12.44 while finishing second overall.
Marist's 4x100-meter relay team of Makenzy Nielsen, Gabrielle Bozeth, Julia Kropo, and Alyssa Dapont also etched their names in the record books, winning the event in 48.15 to break the previous school record of 48.86 set in 2025.
The Red Foxes saw strong depth in the sprints, with multiple personal-best and season-best performances. Nielsen (12.49) and Dapont (12.74) each recorded personal bests in the 100 meters. In the 200 meters, Julia Kropo (26.14) and Nielsen (26.31) posted season-best times, while Dapont (26.57), Grace Fletcher (26.75), and several others added to the team's strong showing.
In the 400-meter dash, Fletcher led the way with a third-place finish in 1:01.51, followed closely by Julie Cristinzio (1:01.79, season best) and a tightly packed group of Red Foxes behind them.
Alicia Ramos delivered a standout performance in the 100-meter hurdles, finishing third with a personal-best time of 15.01, while Madison LaCreta added a season-best 15.31.
In the field events, Samperi's record-breaking long jump headlined a strong group effort that included a season-best from Emma Murphy (5.19 meters). Grace Murphy turned in an impressive day in the throws, recording personal bests in both the discus (27.90 meters) and javelin (34.85 meters), the latter earning her a fourth-place finish.
Marist also saw solid efforts in the distance events, with Melina Montgomery leading the 800-meter group (2:26.29) and Madison Stevener posting a personal-best 5:01.41 in the 1,500 meters.
The Red Foxes will look to build on a weekend full of momentum as the outdoor season continues.
