POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist University men's tennis team (13-5, 7-0 MAAC) looks to finish unbeaten in conference play on Friday against Rider, as the Red Foxes host the Broncs at 4 p.m. at the Marist Tennis Pavilion.
Before the match, Marist will have a ceremony to honor its graduating seniors:
Jose Catala, Danté Despontin, and
Nick Suhanitski.

- After defeating Fairfield 4-3 on April 10 to secure the MAAC regular season title, the Red Foxes added a 6-1 non-conference win over Lafayette on April 12 to earn their seventh consecutive victory.
- Marist opened the match with a dominant performance in doubles, sweeping all three courts to secure the point. Senior Nick Suhanitski and junior Thomas Bevan edged a 7-6 (5) win at No. 1, while graduate student Jose Catala and sophomore Fateh Singh followed with a 6-1 victory at No. 2. Freshman Alejandro Abella Fernandez and freshman Brandon Ramos completed the sweep with a 7-5 win at No. 3.
- The Red Foxes carried that momentum into singles, winning five of six matches. Abella Fernandez led the way with a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 1, while sophomore Gregor Heinemann earned a 6-0, 2-6, 10-5 victory at No. 2.
- Graduate student Danté Despontin rolled to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3, and Ramos added a 6-2, 0-6, 6-0 victory at No. 4. Singh secured a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5.
- The Broncs are 9-6 on the season and 5-1 in conference play, with their lone MAAC loss against Fairfield.
- Friday's match will mark the 25th meeting in program history between Marist and Rider, with the Red Foxes leading the all-time series 23-1.
- The Red Foxes are headed to the 2026 MAAC Men's Tennis Championships for a semifinal matchup on Saturday, April 25 in Princeton, New Jersey.
