POUGHKEEPSIE, New York - The Marist men's lacrosse team will play host to Stony Brook for the NCCA Opening Round on Wednesday, May 6.
The Red Foxes enter NCAA play at 11-4 on the season. Marist earned the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference automatic qualifier by virtue of winning the conference championship on Saturday against Siena, by a score of 12-8.
Richie Metzger was named Most Valuable Player of the MAAC Championship, while
Sean Mullan, Aiden McCaffrey, and Collin Patrick was named to the All-Championship Team. Marist enters NCAA play on a five-game win streak.
Stony Brook is 10-5 overall and won the CAA Conference title, defeating Towson 13-11. Earlier this season, Stony Brook defeated Marist at Stony Brook, 14-11.
If the Red Foxes prevail on Wednesday, Marist will face #1 overall seed Princeton on Sunday, May 10, at 2:30 PM.
The Red Foxes have won five MAAC championships in program history (2005,2015, 2019, 2023, and 2026), the most of any team in conference history. This is Marist's fifth NCAA Tournament appearance (2005, 2015, 2019, 2023, 2026).
