Marist Football Picked Eighth In Pioneer Football League Preseason Poll

ST. LOUIS - The Marist football team was picked to finish eighth out of 10 teams in the Pioneer Football League (PFL) Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on Monday. The Red Foxes, who are entering their third season in the PFL, received a total of 31 points in the poll.

Jacksonville, which shared last year's league championship with Dayton, was picked to finish first in the poll with 80 of a possible 81 points and eight first-place votes.

The Marist football team will report for preseason camp on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and will hold its first official practice on Friday, Aug. 12. The Red Foxes will begin the 2011 season at Sacred Heart on Saturday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. Marist will play the first of its five home contests against Georgetown on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. as part of Alumni Weekend.
