Marist Splits Day One of Marist Invite

March 24, 2001 -- The Marist College Polo team picked up its first win at home with a 10-8 win over St. Francis College at the Marist College Invitational at the James J. McCann Natatorium. Earlier in the day, the Red Foxes fell to powerhouse Hartwick, 2-11.

Marist, which currently stands at 2-11 on the season, were led in the win by rookie Alyson Fiorillo (Pottsville, PA) with five goals, including three in the second period. Freshman Jen Meyer (Fairport, NY) also added two goals, while netminder Jessica Lengyel (Beacon Falls, CT) made eight saves in the home victory.

In the loss, rookie Joelle Evanousky (Barnesville, PA) and sophomore captain Kristina Estok (Orange, CT) each netted a goal. Lengyel saved five Hartwick shots on net.
