Poughkeepsie, NY---Marist College head women's tennis coach Peter Angarola announced the signing of Tara Dolan (Hopewell JCT., NY) to a National Letter of Intent. The Hudson Valley native has become the first member of the Class of 2006 for the women's tennis team.
"We are very excited to have Tara join the Red Foxes for the next four seasons," said Angarola. "I think it's great that she has decided to stay in Dutchess County and play her collegiate tennis here at Marist College."
Dolan, who currently attends Arlington High School, has played first singles for four seasons, owning a 45-9 record on her career and has helped lead her school to three league titles. In her most recent season, she compiled a 10-2 record in the regular season and advanced to the Section One, Class A Tournament.
As a Red Fox, Dolan is planning a dual major, majoring in elementary/special education and psychology.
The women's tennis program is off to an excellent start after the fall season with a 6-1 overall record and a 3-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference record, with the only loss coming at the hands of St. Bonaventure University. The spring season will commence with a match against St. Francis College on March 23rd , at 2:00 p.m., in Loretto, PA.
