Men's Soccer Plays Oneonta to 1-1 Tie

Oneonta, NY - The Marist College men's soccer team traveled to Oneonta and played to a 1-1 tie against the Red Dragons on Saturday afternoon. The tie improves the Red Foxes' record to 1-6-1 on the season.

Marist scored first in the 29th minute when Bruno Machado (Danbury, CT) snuck a ball past the goalkeeper from the left side for a 1-0 lead.

Oneonta (4-5-1) tied the game in the 62nd minute when Antonio DiMuccio scored after having his shot sent back at him twice by Marist defenders.

The Red Foxes had its best opportunity to win the game when Machado fired a ball off the crossbar in the second overtime period. The play was even throughout as Oneonta outshot Marist 21-19. John Balzarini (Holbrook, NY) had his first game in goal and collected eight saves.

Marist returns to action on Friday, October 11, when they travel to New Rochelle, NY for their conference opener against Iona at 3 p.m.
