Poughkeepsie, NY - The Marist College volleyball team snapped a five-match losing streak by defeating Fairleigh Dickinson 3-0 (30-26, 30-28, 30-19) on Saturday afternoon at the McCann Center. The Red Foxes improve to 10-20 on the season, while the Knights fall to 7-19. Marist has reached 10 wins for the first time since the 1998 season.
The Red Foxes were able to hold off Fairleigh Dickinson for the first two games and never looked back, as they hit .312 in the third game to the Knights' -.079.
Courtney Pusko (Cheshire, CT) led Marist with nine kills, six digs, and nine total blocks. Pusko also had a .421 hitting percentage for the match. Christina Brozek (Fair Lawn, NJ) recorded 10 kills and six digs for the Red Foxes. Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) tallied 30 assists and eight digs on the afternoon.
Sharon Becker led the Knights with seven kills and 15 digs. Marissa Sarubbi added six kills and 14 digs in the loss.
The Red Foxes return to action on Wednesday, November 6th, when they resume conference play, hosting Iona at the McCann Center for a 7:00 p.m. match.
