Riverdale, NY---The Marist College women's tennis team was defeated by Manhattan College, 5-2, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) contest this afternoon, in Riverdale, NY. The Red Foxes fell to 11-4 overall and 6-2 in MAAC play.

In singles play Jennifer Edwards (Baldwinsville, NY) captured the victory over Meghan Smith at number five singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). At number six singles Kara Bliss (Burnt Hills, NY) won easily against Catherine Ondreika, 6-0, 6-1.

In the doubles play, the Red Fox duo of Edwards and Courtney McGeever (Wickliffe, OH) earned the win at number three doubles against Jessica Kulack and Ondreika, 8-1.

The Red Foxes return to the courts tomorrow at 12 noon, as they take on conference opponent Niagara University. The match will be taking place at the Dutchess Racquet Club in Poughkeepsie, NY.
