Poughkeepsie, NY - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced today Marist junior goalie Brian Schumeyer (Farmingdale, NY) Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week.

Marist went 1-1 on the week, defeating Siena 11-6 on the road last Wednesday and dropping a heartbreaking 14-13 overtime loss at home to Mount Saint Mary's on Sunday.

Against Siena, Schumeyer stopped 12 of 20 shots while allowing only six goals. He then responded by making 17 saves on 38 shots against Mount Saint Mary's.

For the week Schumeyer made 29 saves and had a goals against average of 10.0. It is the fourth time in his career he has received the accolade.

The Red Foxes will return to action at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 21 at Sacred Heart before returning home to face Lafayette at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, April 24th. Marist College will also be hosting the 2002 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championships May 3-4th on Leonidoff Field
