Softball Falls Twice at Iona 3-0, 2-0

New Rochelle, NY - The Marist College softball team was defeated twice at Iona 3-0, 2-0 earlier today in New Rochelle, NY.

In the first game the Red Foxes managed only one hit, a double by Kathleen McEvily (White Plains, NY) as the Gaels claimed the 3-0 win. Iona scored runs in the first, second and fourth innings off freshman Nichole Rawson (Palmdale, CA) (5-9) who was dealt the loss for Marist.

Game two saw the Red Foxes total four hits, but runs by Iona in the first and second innings gave them the 2-0 victory. Freshman Danielle Blake (Doylestown, PA) (3-10) who had one of the four hits was on the losing end for Marist.

The pair of conference losses drops the Red Foxes to 9-28-1 on the year and 3-7 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), while Iona improved to 18-19 overall and 8-4 in the MAAC.

Marist will return to action tomorrow with a doubleheader at conference foe Fairfield starting at 1:00 PM.
