Syracuse, NY - The Marist College volleyball team lost to Syracuse this afternoon, 3-1 (31-33, 30-22, 30-22, 30-20). With the loss, the Red Foxes dropped to 4-12 on the year.

Marist struck early by taking the first game, but was unable to overcome Syracuse (10-5), as they edged the Red Foxes in service aces 9-0.

Aline dos Santos (Sao Paulo, Brazil) led Marist with 17 kills and nine digs on the day. Meghan Cochrane (Placentia, CA) added 35 assists while Christina Brozek (Fair Lawn, NJ) tallied 13 kills and five digs for the Red Foxes.

Rachel Crooks led Syracuse with 14 kills. Kathryn Dercher added 55 assists for the Orangewomen.

The Red Foxes return to action tomorrow, Sunday, September 29, when they travel to Binghamton for a 2:00 p.m. match.
