Hartford, CT - The Auburn Tigers and the Sam Houston State Bearkats were both victorious over the Marist College women's volleyball team in the second day of play at the Hartford Fall Invitational. With the sweep, the Red Foxes dropped to 2-3 on the season.

In the first match of the day, Auburn won 3-1 (34-32, 19-30, 30-20, 30-23). Ryann Gillen (Paola, KS) led the Red Foxes with nine kills and 21 assists. Michelle Turley (Stevensville, MI) and Christina Brozek (Fair Lawn, NJ) added 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Brozek's hitting percentage for the match was .643.

Sam Houston State won their match this afternoon by a score of 3-0 (30-8, 30-21, 30-21). Gillen had five kills and 11 assists to lead the Red Foxes.

The Red Foxes return to action on Thursday, September 12th at 6 p.m., when they host the St. John's University Red Storm.
