Cambridge, Mass.-The Marist College women's indoor track team ran well yesterday at the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational held on the campus of Harvard University. The Red Foxes had three runners finish in their respective races.
Senior captain, Susan Golden (Vernon, Conn.) led Marist with a seventh-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:17.69. Cheryl Fil (Wappingers Falls, NY), Cheryl Norris (Schenectady, NY), and Grace LaFemina (Sayville, NY) placed 15th, 17th, and 20th, respectively. In the mile run, Golden finished eighth in a time of 5:27.76, while Christine Peltier (Albany, NY) and Norris finished in times of 5:41.14 and 5:44.38, good for 16th and 19th.
In the 3,000-meter run, Liza Grudzinski (Branford, Conn.) placed fourth out of 44 competitors with a time of 10:08.00. Senior Jen Klier (Williamsville, NY) finished 18th in a time of 10:46.37, while freshman Mackenzie Klump (Fayetteville, NY) recorded a time of 11:45.06, good for 35th.
The 4x880m Relay saw Marist finish in school record time of 1:51.76. The team included Marissa Artiano (Rancho Palos Verdes, CA), Lauren LeMoine (Latham, NY), Megan Schlittler (Brodhead, WI), and Alison Keller (Cheshire, Conn.).
Keller placed sixth in the 60-meter high hurdles in a time of 9.21, while Donna Stallman (Birdsboro, PA) finished 19th with a time of 11.44.
In field competition, Keller tied for ninth in the high jump with a measurement of 1.43 meters (4`08.25). Beth Ritchie (Bellmore, NY) placed 13th in the long jump with a jump of 4.27 meters (14`00.25).
The Red Foxes return to action January 24th and 25th when they compete in the Terrier Classic held at Boston University.
