Lewisburg, PA-The Marist College women's tennis team wrapped up their second and final day at the Bucknell Tournament this afternoon, winning three matches.
The Red Foxes had two singles victories on the day during the third round back draw competition. Sophomore Yana Tikhonko (Brooklyn, NY/Abraham Lincoln) notched her win by defeating Annie Davies of Pittsburgh, 8-4, in the Flight A contest. In Flight C, junior Courtney McGeever (Wickliffe, Ohio/Notre Dame Catholic Latin) tallied her win by beating Brande Hansteen of Bloomsburg State, 8-4.
In doubles action, the duo of Tikhonko and Yana Krugly (Staten Island, NY/Staten Island Academy) defeated Bucknell's Rheama Gaskin and Sam Berthod, 8-6, advancing to the third round and final round of Flight B doubles. In the final round, Tikhonko and Krugly were downed by Villanova's Jessie Rybacki and Kelly McAndrew, 8-4.
The Red Foxes are back on the court Sunday, September 28th when they travel to Lawrenceville, NJ to battle the Broncs of Rider.
