Marist College senior Brian Diele was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Men's Lacrosse League Player of the Week this afternoon by the league office. This is the first award of the season for Marist.

Diele was the Red Foxes top-scorer in two games this week, including a solid effort in MAAC Lacrosse League win over Mount St. Mary's. The attacker tallied four goals, including a game-winner, and had an assist for five points. Diele also shot 57.1 percent for the week and had 85.7 percent of his shots on net in the two games.

Against Mount St. Mary's he tallied four goals, including two to open the third quarter and expand a 4-3 halftime lead to 6-3, a lead which Mount could not eclipse.

Diele picked up his assist on the week against 19th-ranked Ohio State on March 22nd.

On the season, Diele has played and started all five games, scoring seven goals, tallying four assists and 11 points.

Diele and the Red Foxes look to continue their winning ways on Wednesday, March 31st as they travel to Lehigh for a 7:00pm start.
