Loudonville, NY- The Marist College softball team earned a 6-5 come-from-behind win over Siena, before being shutout 4-0 in game two, to split a doubleheader with Siena this afternoon.

In the first game, Marist rallied from 5-1 down to take the first game 6-5. Marist scored five runs in the decisive sixth inning on six hits. Barbara Leasure had a key two-RBI single and scored the tying run on a wild pitch. Allison Bartley's single to centerfield plated Chrystine McHugh with what proved to be the game-winning run.

Siena (11-21-1, 3-6 MAAC) took the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the second inning. Adrian St. Cin singled to lead off the frame and pinch runner Marlo Daniels scored on Christa Fasano's sacrifice bunt, which was mishandled by the Red Foxes. After Jasmery Polanco got Marist (10-32, 4-6 MAAC) on the board with an RBI single to centerfield in the fourth, the Saints broke through for three runs in the fifth to take a commanding 5-1 lead. All five of Siena's runs were unearned.

In game two, Siena ace Tara shut down Marist in a 4-0 victory, allowing just four hits while striking out four. With a 1-0 lead, the Saints put the game away with three runs in the fifth inning.
