Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Marist freshman Dan Needle (Baldwinsville, N.Y./C.W. Baker) was named MAAC Lacrosse League Rookie of the Week, the conference office announced today. This is the second week in a row Needle has received the honor.

Needle, a face-off specialist for the Red Foxes, won 14 of 36 draws in Marist's 1-1 week and recorded a team-high 12 ground balls. For the season, Needle has won 62 of 129 face-offs for a .481 success rate. His 30 ground balls rank him fourth on the squad.

Marist (5-6, 4-2 MAAC) is back in action Wednesday night, hosting Siena under the lights at Leonidoff Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
