Princeton, N.J. - Marist freshman Mike Rolek ran a 32:05.62 in the 10,000 meters tonight at the Sam Howell Invitational at Princeton University to qualify for the USA Junior National Championships. Rolek is the third Marist distance runner in the last three years to qualify for the USA Junior Nationals in that event. All three did it as freshmen.
Rolek, who placed 16th overall, joins Justin Harris (2003) and Mark Fernandez (2004) as Marist freshmen to qualify for the 10,000 meter race at the national competition. The 2005 USA Junior Nationals will be held June 24-25 at the Home Depot Center Complex in Carson, Calif.
