Final Stats

Fairfield, Conn. - The Marist softball team took a 9-4 victory over second-seeded Rider and a 4-3 win over #4 Fairfield to go 2-0 on the first day of the MAAC Tournament. Marist has advanced to the MAAC Championship game for the first time since 2001. The Foxes had 21 hits on the day but capitalized on five errors by each of their oppponents. Sophomore first baseman Annie Castellano went 6-8 at the plate, incluing a three-run homer and a triple to bolster Marist's offensive effort.
