Men's Soccer Opens Home Schedule Friday Night Against Hofstra

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - Marist's Men's Soccer Squad will open the home portion of its schedule on Friday night, when it hosts Hofstra. The Red Foxes lost a heartbreaker to the Pride last season in Heampstead, 3-2 in double overtime. Kick-off is set for 7:00 p.m. and you can follow all the action on www.GoRedFoxes.com's free live audio broadcast. Geoff Brault and Rob Celletti will call all the action. Live stats will also be available through CSTV's Gametracker.

The Red Foxes enter the matchup at 1-4 on the season and coming off a 4-0 loss to Penn. After opening the season with a 2-1 win at Army, the Foxes have dropped four straight, all being shutouts. Friday's game marks the third game this season the Red Foxes have played against a 2005 NCAA Tournament opponent.

The Pride comes to Poughkeepsie with a 2-2-1 record and are coming off a scoreless tie with Fairleigh Dickinson on September 9. Hofstra is led statistically by Michael Todd, who has four goals and eight points to date.

Following Friday's contest, Marist will play two more non-conference games, before opening MAAC play on September 29 at Iona. Marist is in pursuit of its third straight MAAC Championship and trip to the NCAA Tournament.
