POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced on Monday that Marist freshman Corey Zindel (Randolph, N.J.) is the MAAC Lacrosse League's Rookie of the Week. Zindel led Marist to its first two wins of the season last week as the Red Foxes defeated MAAC teams Providence and Mount St. Mary's at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. This is Zindel's third Rookie of the Week award this season.

Zindel led Marist with seven points this week in wins over Providence and Mount St. Mary's this week. The freshman scored a goal on his only shot of the game against the Friars on Wednesday and added three assists. He followed that up with a hat trick against the Mountaineers in Saturday's 6-5 double-overtime win. Zindel currently leads Marist with 17 goals, 24 assists, and 41 total points.

Marist will go on the road on Wednesday for a 3 p.m. game against MAAC rival Siena.
