HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Marist men's tennis team played their second match in as many days and showed no signs of fatigue in a 7-0 win at the University of Hartford on Wednesday. Five Red Foxes were double winners as Marist (8-4, 5-0 MAAC) did not drop a set in singles action for the second consecutive match.
Sophomore Loic Sessagesimi (La-Tour de Peliz, Switzerland) cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win in second singles over Artur Muller.
Greg Marks (Newburgh, N.Y.) won his seventh straight singles match playing up in the second singles slot. The senior captain defeated Will White 6-2, 6-1. Freshman Landon Greene (Palos Verdes, Calif.) shut down Filip Militec 6-0, 6-0 in third singles, and junior Antonio Oliver (Madrid, Spain) was also a 6-0, 6-0 winner in fourth singles. He beat Dan Glickman.
Peter Luck (Goshen, N.Y.) won his fifth singles match 6-1, 6-0 over Aaron Kooden, and rookie Jordan Keen (Ashton, Md.) also won 6-1, 6-0 in sixth singles over Emmett Drake.
Sessagesimi and Marks won a tight, first doubles match over Muller and White by a score of 8-6. Greene and Nicolas Pisecky (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Oliver and Luck both pitched shutouts in their doubles matches.
The Red Foxes have now won five in a row and will host St. Peter's and Niagara on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m.
