Men's Soccer Practice - 8/20
POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Marist men's soccer team returned to campus for training camp on Wednesday, August 19. After an evening practice at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field, the team will host its first scrimmage of the season at 7 p.m. against the Dominican Chargers.
During their practice on Thursday, the Red Foxes worked on defending free kicks among a few other things.
"Today's practice went very well," head coach Matt Viggiano said. "If we can defend set pieces and have a sense of urgency in both the offensive and defensive boxes we will be much better off. That is what we worked on today."
The Red Foxes return 10 starters from last season, and will look to improve on a 3-13-2 overall record.
The Red Foxes will open the 2009 regular season on Tuesday, Sept. 1 as they host the Delaware Blue Hens at Tenney Stadium at Leonidoff Field. Kick-off is slated for 7 p.m.
