HANOVER, N.H. - The Marist men's tennis team opened the 2010 Dartmouth Shootout with doubles play on Friday. Senior Nicolas Pisecky (Lausanne, Switzerland) and freshman Marcus von Nordheim (Munich, Germany) and freshman Bradley Royes (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) won in the quarterfinals of Flight E.
Pisecky and Klassen defeated Julian Camacho and Justin Reindel of Amherst 8-7 (2) in their opening round match. In the semifinals the Marist pair lost to John Kelly and Alex de Chatellus of Dartmouth 8-7 (5). Pisecky and Klassen will play for third place on Saturday in the Flight C doubles draw.
In Flight E, von Nordheim and Royes bested Dan Keolasay and Will Rives of Amherst 8-4. In the semifinals, von Nordheim and Royes fell to James Burke and Andrew Lebovitz of Middlebury 8-6.
On Saturday, the Red Foxes will conclude doubles action as well as begin singles play at the Dartmouth Shootout. Matches are scheduled to resume at 9 a.m.
