NEW HAVEN, CONN. - The Marist men's tennis team suffered three setbacks on Saturday in the second round of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Northeast Regional Tournament at Yale. Seniors Nicolas Pisecky (Lausanne, Switzerland) and Landon Greene (Palos Verdes, Calif.) both lost to seeded players in straight sets.
After a three set win on Friday, Pisecky fell to Hicham Laalej 6-4, 6-3 on Saturday. Laalej was the #13 seed in the draw and plays for the University of Pennsylvania.
Greene fell to Alexandre Haggai of Binghamton 6-2, 6-1 in second round action as well.
In doubles, junior Matt Himmelsbach (Longmeadow, Mass.) and freshman Will Reznek (Toronto, Canada) fell to Dartmouth's Michael Laser and Xander Centenari 8-4.
With the conclusion of ITA Northeast Regional for the Red Foxes, Marist has concluded its fall season. The Red Foxes will begin their Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Title defense in the spring.
