CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Junior Joris Van Eck (Ospel, Netherlands) of the Marist men's tennis team garnered singles victories on the second day of the Harvard Winter Classic on Saturday. All three matches lasted only two sets apiece.
Klassen and Van Eck posted the strongest victories of the day. Klassen Tunc Kiymaz of Harvard 6-1, 6-2, and Van Eck defeated the Crimson's Brendan Seaver by an identical 6-1, 6-2 tally.
Himmelsbach rounded out the singles wins against Will McNamee of Harvard. Himmelsbach won the first set 6-2, but trailed in the second set 2-3 before McNamee was forced to retire.
The Red Foxes return to the courts on Sunday. Marist will wrap up play at the Harvard Winter Classic. Play will take place at the Murr Tennis Center.
