CAMBRIDGE, MASS. - Led by five singles victories on Sunday, the Marist men's tennis team concluded play at the Harvard Winter Classic. Junior Joris Van Eck (Ospel, Netherlands), senior Nicolas Pisecky (Lausanne, Switzerland) and senior Marcus von Nordheim (Munich, Germany) notched straight set victories.
Himmelsbach defeated Mac McAnulty of Harvard 6-1, 0-6, 6-2, while Reznek bested Alexei Chijoff-Evans. Reznek dropped the first set before rebounding to win the final two sets. The set score was 3-6, 7-6 (2), 7-5.
Van Eck used a 6-4, 6-0 score to prevail over Joshua Tchan. Pisecky also surrendered only four games in his straight set victory over Tunc Kiymaz. The score was 6-3, 6-1.
In doubles action Reznek and von Nordheim defeated Kiymaz and Brendan Seaver of Harvard 8-3.
The Red Foxes are idle until Saturday, Feb. 19. Marist will take on Air Force at West Point. First serves are slated for 10 a.m.
