BOSTON, Mass. - After a weekend away for action, the Marist men's indoor track and field squad traveled to Boston for the BU Terrier Invitational. Little did they know that the weekend off would give them such as boost, as the Red Foxes came out firing on all cylinders. IC4A qualifications and personal-bests were set throughout the meet in what Head Coach Pete Colaizzo summed up as a "huge day."
The 3,000-meter run was the showcase event for the Red Foxes as four individuals qualified for the IC4A Championships with sub-8:27.20 times. Junior Adam Vess (Cromwell, Conn.) rounded out the qualifiers with times of 8:17.79, 8:22.40 and 8:22.59, respectively. Four qualifiers is the most in one race in school history.

Sophomore Matt Panebianco (Tappan, N.Y.) was the highest individual finisher for Marist at the meet with his ninth place time of 2:30.83. Much like Panebianco, junior Tom Lipari (Greenvale, N.Y) set a personal-best time with his 2:31.71 finish.
The 5,000-meter run also saw three more Red Foxes set personal-bests. Sophomore Joel Moss (Baldwinsville, N.Y.), junior Brian Townsend (East Setauket, N.Y.) and freshman Ryan Scrudato (Westfield, N.J.) were these individuals. Moss posted a time of 15:19.98, Townsend 15:24.57 and Scrudato a time of 15:26.56.
In field events freshmen Jesse Aprile and Sean Ellman represented the Red Foxes. Aprile (Yorktown, N.Y) participated in the long jump and triple jump posting top 16 distances of 6.17 meters (20 feet, 3 inches) and 12.62 meters (41 feet, 5 inches) respectively.
