LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Marist men's tennis team began its quest for a fifth straight MAAC Championship with a resounding 7-0 victory over Siena, sweeping all nine matches, on Tuesday afternoon.
The Red Foxes did not drop a set on the day and freshmen Joseph Dube (Livonia, Mich.) and Matteo Giudici (Parma, Italy) won their first singles matches in conference play at the third and fifth spot, respectively.
Senior Matt Himmelsbach (Longmeadow, Mass) defeated Dylan Roberts 6-2, 6-0 in the top singles slot. Sophomores Will Reznek (Toronto, Canada), Dalen Klassen (St. Louis, Mo.) and Jacob Solly (Sydney, Australia) all took care of their opponents at the second, fourth and sixth singles.
In doubles, the pairings of Himmelsbach and Giudici, Dube and Reznek and Klassen and Solly all won easily.
